‘Tales of Midnight’

An evocative programme exploring folklore, darkness and imagination after dark. From the gothic drama of Marschner’s Overture to Der Vampyr to the haunting introspection of Lili Boulanger’s D’un Soir Triste, the concert will weave atmosphere and emotion throughout.

Grieg’s unforgettable Peer Gynt will summon trolls, pursuit and profound loss, while the epic worlds of modern storytelling will be brought to life in Hans Zimmer’s Interstellar Suite.

The programme will also include Mozart’s electrifying Don Giovanni Overture, together with Svendsen’s noble Andante Funèbre and the world premier of Stephen Chadwick’s Midnight Ocean.
